Classrooms of Character

During the 2009-2010 school year, EdCo teamed up with Character Counts of Iowa and KCCI to bring you Classrooms of Character.

Through this program, four deserving classrooms received a check for $500 from EdCo to enhance their character-worthy activities. Each winning class was also featured in a segment on the KCCI NewsChannel 8 news program. EdCo also donated $500 to each founding organization or school of the winning classroom to help educate staff about the importance of the six pillars of character; Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

Our Classrooms of Character Winners: Erin Budreau’s second-grade class at Willard Elementary School in Des Moines, Mrs.Vangerpen-Henn’s Adaptive Physical Education Class at Gilbert Elementary School in Des Moines, Mrs.Zimmerman's third-grade class at Irving Elementary School in Indianola and Class Act Productions Children's Theater in Altoona.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Classrooms of Character this past year!
